Actually, the Solstice is six months to the day. That's why we announced this stuff tonight!

With what we have up our sleeve this year, it will be by far the most extravagant and spectacular one yet. EVENT EVOLUTION!

I was hoping the EE crew would consider pushing the event back to July next year, especially after the weather we had Saturday night this year. July seems to be a more reliable month for summer weather. Yes, it's hotter but that's why we have the beach.

I prefer June. The slightly cooler temperature makes a big difference. If my memory serves me correctly, last year was the first time there was ever bad weather at EE, and it didn't last for very long. The biggest casualty was the stage cover.

I remember the first couple years in July were pretty uncomfortable, but I'm a wuss in the heat....

I know that the first EE had snow so that was the worst ever....

I think they choose June becouse of BurningMan... I would also preffer July I like to have only t-shirt on at night but last year was not that cold. So let's hope this year is warm

Snow? Really? I do not remember that at all.

A couple corrections:

~We originally chose June a few years ago because July was exceptionally hot the year before and because one of the promoters was expecting a child around the 4th. We decided to go with the Summer Solstice weekend because of its natural and cultural significance. Since then, we've become attached to the idea of using the Solstice. It worked especially well with last year's theme. Also, while last year's wind storm and river depth and temperature were issues, it was also the first time we encountered such problems during "official" Esthetic history.

~The first "real" Esthetic Evolution was in July of 2005. It was incredibly hot out all weekend and we hadn't really incorporated the river stage yet. It was an amazing event, but pretty uncomfortable for some.

~The "snow" people are talking about was actually at the free family gathering pr0cess threw in Idaho City on the Summer Solstice of 2004. Many pr0cess/P.O.E friends refer to this as "Esthetic Evolution 0". I believe this is where Ryan, Steve and Jared first started seriously discussing doing a large festival (correct me if I'm wrong, guys).

Can't wait, last year was a blast and we're ready to kick it for both nights this time W00t!

Will be bringing a grip of cats up from Salt Lake City with me this year.

Yes, you can imagine the work our scientists and doctors went through to fuse all of our DNA together to create this child.

Your correct Devo, this event is refered to as EE0 or The Family Gathering. We had done events in the past, but this is the first multi day camping event with pure crazyness. Many fond memories like when I made sushi at the event and walked around the campsites giving it out just to the faces light up. Or, when it started snowing Saturday night and peeps got naked and started dancing around the campfire that was constructed more or less in middle of the "dance floor". So many more, I could go on and on....

EE0 was a lot of fun, The snow was crazy unexpected but totally killer!!! This years date is perfect, the element of surprise. Come prepared to take all your senses to new heights. Sun, snow, monsoon, whatever happens go with it.......

Man! It's only New Year's Day, and I'm already so jazzed about what is to come this year! See you guys in a few months!

That was fun... I brought the Tee-pee, the sushi was great... watching kids on acid react in disgust at the contents of a dutch oven was great... snow, not so hot. We ran away fast!

I can't wait for this year, stoked to see what you guys are putting together.

Actually my dad came to a party with me at NAF in Seattle in like 1999. It was pretty funny. He had a good time too He also came with me to Raver Day at Disney Land that same year. Hilarious!

It's on Sunday, and doesn't everyone leave decently early during the day on Sunday? That totally gives you time for a dinner date with dads or kids!
